Top Tips For Working Out Your Mind

Staying healthy is just as much about what’s going on inside, as it is about what’s going on outside. I’m not just talking about what you’re eating either.

A healthy mind can change your outlook on life, improving your diet, exercise routine and more. If you’re beating yourself up in your head, you’re going to feel much worse than if you had a positive mindset. I know it’s hard to be upbeat all the time, but try my tips and see if you can give your mind a work out!


Read, read, read


One of the best ways to get your brain into gear is to read anything you can. You’ve already taken the first step by reading my blog today, so well done! Reading can help you to learn new things, feel more creative and expand your imagination. Reading can even contribute to increasing your memory, which is always useful. If you’re not much of a reader, start with magazines, blogs and online news sites. They’ll help you to get into the swing of things. You can then move onto fiction or nonfiction books. Choose something that’s a subject you’re interested in, so it holds your attention. If you want to be healthier, pick up some health books, you might learn something exciting. I make it a priority to read my Bible daily.


Share your feelings


If you’re feeling a little down about anything you should always talk about it. It might be difficult at first, but you’ll feel so much better afterwards! If you’re struggling with your diet and just want to pig out, tell a friend how you feel. I personally use a journal every day to share with God my feelings. Sharing your feelings isn’t limited to healthy living. If you’re upset about anything, it’ll cloud your mind making it hard to concentrate. If it’s something serious, you might want to speak to a therapist. It can be a scary step to make, but if you feel great, everything in your life will feel improved. 


Listen to music


A good song can boost your mood in an instant. If you ever feel like you need some motivation, relation time or just some fun, stick on some music. Different types of music can make us feel different things, so pick something to get you in the mood you want to achieve. Some people find that listening to the right song makes them work out better in the gym and run faster on the track!

Mediation can be difficult to get the hang of, but once you learn you’ll feel incredible! I need to practice myself to get my technique right. The Bible says to meditate – ” This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8

Sometimes I read just one Bible verse and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what it means. I think about the verse throughout the day – how it applies to me and those around me. Meditation has been said to improve your memory, awareness and emotions.
