Anyone that knows me, knows that I love a great restaurant find! One of the hardest things about moving to California from New York City was the lack of good restaurants. This is something I would verbally process over and over again with my husband Parker. For me, atmosphere + creative and well-executed dishes are so important to my overall dining experience. To be honest, I rather go to Chipotle and see a movie than spend $100 on an average meal on date night.
When I first discovered Watertable at the Hyatt hotel, I was so stoked! Not only was it right down the road from us, but the restaurant’s vibes are like a mini-vacation. Every time I have gone to Watertable, I leave wanting to come back and bring a friend to experience it. Everytime someone visits from out of town, this is our first stop for brunch!
I recently had the opportunity to go for dinner – compliments of the Executive Chef Mani! It was honestly such a perfect night ( and I couldn’t believe I had never been there for dinner!!) When we got the menu, I was a little overwhelmed. Everything looked so good and I wanted to try everything haha!
- Hamachi Crudo
- Creamer Potato Cakes
- Veal Porterhouse
- 6-Hour Braised Short Rib
- Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms
- Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper House Cut Fries
Everything was sooooooo good! The crudo was so fresh and the flavors were just perfect. It was hard to not stuff our faces with the Potato cakes because who can deny truffle sauce?! One of the best parts was the amazing cocktails prepared by Tanner. I got the Holy Smoke cocktail and Parker had the Autumn Black Manhattan (which he said was the best Manhattan he ever had)! I can’t wait till we can go again.
Have you been to Watertable? What is your favorite item on the menu?
Parker – so excited to eat all the food!
Taking in the menu – what to get????
GOOD VIBES! I want to go back for drinks and sit by the fire – anyone with me?
My drink was smoked – such a perfect presentation!
Drink Goals – thanks Tanner!
(Almost) too pretty to drink…
1 of many Manhattans
Some of the best appetizers in Orange County. Could be fun to go with friends and order tapas style!
Seriously had so many of these Potato cakes –
they were twice fried, with truffle dip, snipped chives, and cracked pepper
DO YOU SEE THE COLORS OF THIS CRUDO?!
So fresh with cucumber water, fresno oil, juniper scented salt, jicama salad, and citrus segments
The chef surprised us with a FG&J and I am glad he did!
Seared foie gras, fall grape jelly, browned buttered brioche, and roasted hazelnuts
6-Hour Braised Short Rib with celery root puree, heirloom potatoes, pan roasted carrots and onions
Not the best pic of Veal Porterhouse – Parker wanted to eat it while it was hot and kept yelling at me to hurry up haha
And lastly – dessert!
Pumpkin Maple Crème Brûlée molasses + hazelnut biscotti
