LOSE WEIGHT, GET SHARPER… NO DIET REQUIRED.
Post sponsored by Harmony Books.
To be honest, I was a little bit hesitant to read the book The Prime. I have tried diets, cleanses, detox programs and never really saw a difference. When I received the book I decided first to try the test they had inside. The book has a GUT IQ that you can take here. My Gut IQ was:
The Moderate Track — three weeks per stage. You have an average-intelligence gut, but your gut could definitely be smarter, and it’s definitely impacting your brain function and energy level. On The Prime, your detox symptoms won’t be as severe as someone who has a higher score, so you can move along a bit faster.
This sort of peaked my interest. As I continued reading, there was a section on crushing cravings that really peaked my interest. For year, I had been addicted to sugar and every time I tried to break the craving, I had headaches and felt sick.
On my phone interview with Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary she shared with me “From a neurological basis, sugar is as addicting as cocaine.” She shared with me that taking a herb called Ashwagandha in particular helps her patients to reduce their sugar addictions.
She explained to me the biochemistry of our addictions and why sometimes it can feel like a hopeless process. However, once we can actually change the biochemistry in our gut – weight loss becomes effortless.
I was surprised that this wasn’t another book to that told me to just eat healthier and workout. There are teas, herbs, flax, and juices that are part of the program that help make your body healthier. Being someone that travels a lot, it was encouraging to read that I could make the tea in my hotel room and do little adjustments to make this a lifestyle change.
I encourage you to get the book and go at the pace that works for you. It’s not about being perfect but making changes that you can make for life.
