She is Free is committed to helping women rediscover femininity, and experience true freedom – spirit, soul and body. At the She is Free Conference, April 23-25 in New York City, women will be changed from the inside out, and empowered to administer freedom in their sphere of influence.
A little over a year ago – my sister in law Andi shared her vision for what would now be called “She is Free.” As a small group of us gathered and prayed about what this movement could look like – She is Free was born.
Could you imagine a world where people lived truly and utterly free. No matter what their race, gender, and social status.
Webster dictionary defines Freedom as:
the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.“we do have some freedom of choice”
My friend Samy and I decided to explore this more. From the beginning – She is Free was never just a womens conference. It was a CATALYST for change. I started to see a spark starting on April 23rd 2015 that would be carried out throughout NYC and then spread throughout the world.
So for that to happen – I wanted to know what we were dealing with. What did women believe about freedom?
Samy and I decided to walk around the city and ask women “What is Freedom?”
You can see some of the responses on She is Free’s Instagram.
As I researched more about empowering women and researching brands that actually do – I found an incredible brand called She Is Clothing. The brand is actually a Christian brand and as I looked through the messaging – I became obsessed haha!
I loved loved loved the leather hat on the site. Inscribed inside the hat is a verse from Proverbs. I love that it says “She is clothed in strength and dignity.” What a great reminder – to clothe yourself in those two things.
For me – Freedom is NOT so much about the limits that I live outside of. Freedom is an internal deliverance from all my fears, past and shame. Which is replaced with love and Grace from God. My freedom is an expression of the love that I have received and my ability to now really truly love others.
